Privacy policy

This page explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and how you can ask us to correct it or delete it. It is written to be understood, not to tick a box.
Who is responsible for your data

What this site collects
This site has no forms. You do not need to give us your name, email or phone number to read it. Two things are collected:
- Aggregate visit statistics (page views, country, device type, referring site) through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not build a profile of you across other sites.
- Technical server logs (IP address, date, time and browser) that Cloudflare keeps in order to run the site and protect it from attacks.
We also store your language preference in your browser's local storage, under the key
lang. It is not a tracking cookie, it never reaches a server, and you can
remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
What happens when you contact us
If you write to us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive whatever you choose to send: your name, your number or email, and what you tell us about your company and how it operates. We use it to reply, to prepare the diagnostic, and, if we decide to work together, to run the project. Nothing else.
WhatsApp is operated by Meta Platforms, so that conversation is also governed by Meta's own policies, which are outside our control.
Who it is shared with
Nobody, for commercial purposes. We do not sell, rent or hand over data to third parties so they can contact you. The only parties that process data are the providers that keep the operation running, and they do so on our instructions: Cloudflare (site hosting and statistics), Meta (WhatsApp) and Google (email).
International transfers
Those providers process information outside Colombia, mainly in the United States. By contacting us you agree to that transfer, which is necessary for us to reply and deliver the service.
How long we keep it
Business conversations are kept for as long as the relationship lasts, and afterwards for as long as the legal, accounting and tax obligations that apply to us require. Site statistics are aggregated and cannot identify you, so there is no individual deletion period for them.
Your rights
Under Colombian law 1581 of 2012 you have the right to know, update and correct your data, to ask for proof of the consent you gave, to be told how we use it, to complain to the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, and to withdraw consent or ask for deletion where no legal duty requires us to keep it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the equivalent access, correction, deletion, objection and portability rights apply and are handled through the same channel. If you are a California resident, you may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and we do not sell it.
To exercise any of these rights, write to mat@matcarvy.com. We answer enquiries within ten business days and complaints within fifteen business days from the day we receive them. If we cannot meet that deadline we will tell you why and when it will be resolved, within the extensions the law allows: five extra business days for enquiries and eight for complaints.
Children
This site is aimed at companies and the people who run them. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
If this policy changes we publish the new version here with its date. The date shown above is the one in force.
